Animated presentations increase benefits utilization and employee awareness.

Challenge.
Verizon Wireless, like all corporations, enriched the lives of their employees with various benefits – when they were used properly. Murray’s challenge was to create a campaign that motivated employees
to utilize their benefits and raise awareness of the importance of these benefits. Through proper
utilization of available benefits, it was projected that the company and employees could save money
and that employees could receive better care.
Action.
The Murray solution was a series of Flash-based animated commercials. We used the opportunity not
only to promote core benefits, their significance and best practices, but also to reflect the culture of the
company through visuals and audio. Distribution of the message was monthly via graphic e-mail that
linked to the Flash-based presentations on an internal server. As well, the message was distributed in a
text-based eNewsletter and via a link on the VZWeb Intranet.

Results.
Over 40,000 employees received this campaign, which resulted in a marked increase of benefits
utilization – particularly in mail-order prescriptions and maternity services. HR was the recipient of
innumerable "Thank You" messages from employees who hadn’t realized that the benefits existed or
how best to take advantage of them. Murray’s positioning of the employee ‘ownership’ culture was
extremely well-received.
