Where others see challenges and obstacles, Murray brings cross-departmental cooperation to identify existing strengths and processes and work within the infrastructure. Our team is more than the sum of their individual bios – it is knowledge-sharing and respect that makes Murray unique. We provide a balance of specialized, well-experienced talent, while maximizing productivity and containing costs. Murray’s team approach includes members from our
strategy,
creative and
technology groups.
Dirk Herrmann.
Principal and President
"The dance between strategy, creative and technology is my passion. Having been a photographer and architectural designer and an interactive developer, the common thread has always been the need for a balanced blend of these core elements. An inspiring image printed poorly suffers, a beautiful building can’t stand without engineering and a web site that just looks good doesn’t make it effective.
We have always sought to understand our client’s core objectives, look at the big picture and provide solutions that offer real results. We are proud of the fact that Murray has been creating outstanding web solutions for world-class companies for as long and anyone could."
Dirk Herrmann has over ten years of experience in developing successful web and other new media initiatives. His particular strength is in reengineering B2B processes where Sales and Marketing come together. He worked to define and refine Murray’s own
D5 Methodology
for Internet initiatives.
Dirk has worked with organizations and Fortune 500 companies to create web initiatives that deliver results. More than a decade ago, he created online continuing education courseware for the American Journal of Nursing. This ground-breaking project was done under a grant from the Information Superhighway Fund. As Director of New Media at Murray, he created the first intranet sites for both Warner-Lambert and Johnson & Johnson. Dirk was the original developer of the first United Water resources Internet site and worked with their corporate communications group for a decade.
Dirk worked onsite in the mid-90s at PSEG’s Salem, NJ Nuclear plant to train the trainers on converting static video training content site into interactive courseware. During Y2K he helped ADP develop their first online, software upgrade path for compliance and helped save millions in software packaging and shipping costs to upgrade customers.
For Verizon Wireless, he reduced the cost of HR change management by designing and rolling out ESS/MSS tools (Employee Self-Service/Management Self-Service) resulting in an annual savings of over $10,000,000. Across multiple sales operations intranet and internet projects, Dirk has helped ADP distribute leads, collect sales data and distribute reports in real-time, saving time and millions of dollars.
As president of Murray, Dirk is responsible for strategy both for the firm and for our clients’ initiatives. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts (Philadelphia) as well as an Applied Science degree.
Wendy Flanagan.
Principal and Vice President
As one of three principals at Murray, Wendy heads Marketing Consulting initiatives,
focusing on the needs of our clients to grow or engage their markets. Together,
with partners Dirk Herrmann, President, and Alice Frable, VP, Wendy works with clients
to deliver outstanding marketing communications that help our clients to improve
sales performance, promote consistent marketing, and encourage employee productivity.
Wendy's history with Murray is integral to the spirit of creativity. She first began
working as a Graphic Designer at Murray in 1979, helping her parents, John and Marian
Murray, with their boutique graphic design firm. After receiving her BFA from The
Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in Manhattan in 1987, she returned
to Murray to support her parents’ business and implement core transformations: from
hand-drawn mechanicals to computer-based layout; from print to new media and Web;
from local to international Fortune clients. Together with Dirk and Alice, the partners
purchased the company in 2001.
Client satisfaction with Murray performance is paramount to our business, and Wendy
reviews that satisfaction across all offerings and engagements: sales, consulting,
IA, design, production, delivery, costs, and scheduling. In recent surveys, Murray
ranked highest in customer service among our customers, and Wendy spearheads our
efforts to maintain that core attribute.
Extremely passionate about her customers and the interests of achieving optimum
communications efficiency and effectiveness, Wendy has been a change advocate at
ADT Security Services, Wyndham, Verizon Wireless, Simplex Grinnell and Travelport.
These changes were significant in the use of technology and communications for behavioral
and process modifications resulting in increased customer retention, efficiency
and profitability for those corporations.
She has served on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chapter of the International
Association of Business Communicators
(NJIABC), where she served as President in 2005. Wendy has given seminar
presentations on a variety of topics, including Integrated
Marketing Communications, Brand Building Through Technology, and
Diversity in Communications.
In 2005, she spearheaded coordination of the
NJ MarCom Council to orchestrate joint networking events for the communications
organizations active in New Jersey: PRSA, BMA, AMA, CCM, CCI, MENG, NJAdClub, ADCNJ,
MCA-INJ and NJ/IABC. The result has been summer and holiday events now exceeding
over 430 attendees (summer 2008) and providing the opportunity for networking and
to learn about the organizations.
In June 2006, Wendy was asked to serve as the Large Chapter Liaison for the IABC Heritage Region, which is comprised of 20 IABC Chapters
from Kentucky to Michigan to Connecticut. She has served as VP Membership on the
Board of the NJ/AMA. She continues
to serve as the Chairperson for the B2B Special Interest Group online forum of the
AMA.
In 2007, Wendy was accepted into the NJ Advertising Hall of Fame, as well as being
named one of NJBiz's top 50 Women in Business. 2008 welcomes her appointment to
the Board of the NJAdClub,
where she will focus on membership and quality of communications.
Alice Frable.
Principal and Vice President
Alice Frable is one of the three partners at Murray. Alice employs the methodology that “our strategy is our organization”. She provides leadership, vision and strategy.
Alice joined the company in 1984 and has been an integral part of the company’s growth. Her “hands on” involvement, strong organizational skills and dedication to workflow quickly catapulted her to positions where she could target and manage productivity.
A pivotal point in her career, Alice managed the conversion of over 200 Schering packages from old, agency-style mechanicals to electronic templates. She coordinated the conversion on a global scale, working with Schering manufacturers around the world to make certain the electronic files were accurate to production specifications.
Alice became a partner in 2001 and has helped guide the company to becoming an industry leader. Over the years, her experience in employee relations, production and office management, and vendor coordination has defined a strong foundation for the Murray team. Today, Alice focuses on organizational and infrastructure enhancements to accommodate Murray growth.
Likewise, Alice’s ongoing investment with customers has provided long-time, valuable customer relationships. She manages accounts including ADP, Johnson & Johnson, Radware, Schering, and Verizon Wireless. Her work continues to be globally focused, with Internet sites like ADP GlobalView which will soon incorporate a multi-lingual Content Management Solution, and internal branding solutions for Johnson & Johnson Engineering & Technology Innovations.
